A force is acting on a body making an angle of 30° with the horizontal. The horizontal component of the force is 20 N. Find the force. Ans. (23.1 N)
Given:
Angle = 𝜭 = 30°
Horizontal Component of Force = Fx = 20 N
To Find:
The magnitude of the Force = F = ?
Solution:
The equation for Horizontal Component Fx is
Fx = F Cos 𝜭
or
F = `\frac {Fx}{Cos Ө}`
by putting values
F = `\frac {20 N}{Cos(30°)}`
F = `\frac {20 N}{0.866}`
F = `\frac {20 N}{0.866}`
F = 23.09 N
F = 23.1 N
