A force of 100 N is applied perpendicularly on a spanner at a distance of 10 cm from a nut. Find the torque produced by the force. Ans. (10 Nm)
Given:
Magnitude of  Force  = F =   100 N
distance from the nut  = L =   10 cm = 0.1 m
To Find:
Torque = T = ? Nm
Solution:
The formula for the Torque T is
T =  F ï½˜ L
by putting values
T = 100 N ï½˜ 0.1 m
T = 10 N m
Thus Torque produced by the force is 10 Nm
