Find the perpendicular components of a force of 50 N making an angle of 30° with x-axis. Ans. (43.3 N, 25 N)
Given:
Force = F = 50 N
To Find:
Horizontal Component of Force  = Fx =   ?
Vertical Component of Force  = Fy =   ?
Solution:
The equation for Horizontal Component Fx is
Fx = F Cos 𝜭
by putting values
Fx = 50 N x Cos(30°)
Fx = 50 N x 0.866
Fx = 43.3 N
And The equation for Vertical Component Fy is
Fy = F Sin 𝜭
by putting values
Fy = 50 N x Sin(30°)
Fy = 50 N x 0.5
Fy = 25 N
