How much force is needed to prevent a body of mass 10kg from falling? Ans. (100 N)
Given:
Mass of the body = m = 20 kg
Gravitational Acceleration = g = 10 m s⁻²
To Find:
Normal Reaction ( R )= Weight of the body ( W )= ?
Solution:
the formula for weight is
W = mg
or
R = mg
by putting values
R = 10 kg x 10 m s⁻²
R = 100 N
So, the Force needed to hold a body from falling is the weight of the body is 100 N
