The weight of a body is 147 N. What is its mass? (Take the value of g as 10 ms⁻² ) Ans. (14.7 kg)
Given:
Weight of the body = W = 20 N
Gravitational Acceleration = g = 10 m s⁻²
To Find:
Mass of the body = m = ?
Solution:
The formula for weight is
W = mg
or
m = `\frac{W}{g}`
by putting values
m = `\frac{147 N}{10 m s⁻²}`
m = 14.7 kg
So, the mass of the body is 14.7 kg
