What would be the volume of ice formed by freezing 1 litre of water? Ans. (1.09 litre)
Given:
Volume of water = 1 litter(∴ density of water = 1000 kg m⁻³)
(∴ density of ice = 920 kg m⁻³)
To Find:
The volume of ice = ?
Solution:
We know the following ratioor
by putting values
Volume of ice = `\frac {1000 kg m⁻³}{920 kg m⁻³}` x1 litter
Volume of ice = 1.09 litter
