Add the following masses given in kg up to appropriate precision. 2.189, 0.089, 11.8, and 5.32. (Ans: 19.4 kg)
Given:
Masses in kg are 2.189 kg, 0.089 kg, 11.8 kg, and 5.32 kg
To find:
Total (sum) mass up to appropriate precision = ?
Solution:
Total (sum) mass = 2.189 kg + 0.089 kg + 11.8 kg + 5.32 kg
As in the given masses, the least precise mass is 11.8 kg (of one decimal place). So, in order to get appropriate precision, the Total mass will also be of one decimal place. Now by rounding off the total Mass to one decimal place, we get
Total mass = 19.4 kg ----Ans
