The density of air is 1.3 kgm⁻³. Find the mass of air in a room measuring 8m x 5m x 4m. Ans. (208 kg)
Given:
Density of the air = 𝜌 = 1.3 kg m⁻³
Volume of the room containing air (from the measurement) = V = 8 m x 5 m x 4 m =160 m³
To Find:
Mass of the air = m = ?
Solution:
As Density is defined as mass per unit volume. So,
Density = `\frac {Mass}{Volume}`
or
Mass = Density x Volume
m = 𝜌 V
by putting values
m = 1.3 kg m⁻³ x 160 m³
m = 208 kg
Thus, the Mass (m) of air is 425 kg
