Singular Number or Singular Noun:

A noun that denotes one person or thing is called a singular number or singular noun.

Example: 

cat, dog, table, pen, tree, hen 


Plural Number or Plural Noun:

A noun that denotes more than one person or thing is called a plural number or plural noun.

Example:

cats, dogs, tables, pens, trees, hens, etc.
