Convert the following:
a. 36 km/h into m/s                           
b. 120 m/s into km/h 
c. 10 km/h into m/s                 
d. 1 m/s into km/h

Ans {(a) 10 m/s  (b)  432 km/h   (c) 2.778 m/s  (d) 3.6 km/h}

Solution:  


(a) 36 km/h into m/s 
  
Since 1 km = 1000 m and 1 hrs = 3600 sec

So, [ Converting from larger unit to smaller unit we multiply with the factor}

36 km/h into m/s = `\frac {36 ｘ1000 m}{1 ｘ3600 s}`

or

36 km/h into m/s = `\frac {36 ｘ1000 m}{1 ｘ3600s}`

36 km/h into m/s = 10 m/s --------------Ans.1




(b) 120 m/s into km/h 
  
Since 1 km = 1000 m and 1 hrs = 3600 sec

So, [ Converting from smaller unit to larger unit we divide with the factor}

120 m/s into km/h = `\frac {120/1000 km}{1/3600 h}`

or

120 m/s into km/h = `\frac {120 ｘ3600 km}{1000 h}`

120 m/s into km/h = 432 km/h --------------Ans.2



(c) 10 km/h into m/s 
  
Since 1 km = 1000 m and 1 hrs = 3600 sec

So, [ Converting from larger unit to smaller unit we multiply with the factor}

36 km/h into m/s = `\frac {10 ｘ1000 m}{1 ｘ3600 s}`

or

36 km/h into m/s = `\frac {10 ｘ1000 m}{1 ｘ3600s}`

36 km/h into m/s = 2.778 m/s --------------Ans.3




(d) 1 m/s into km/h 
  
Since 1 km = 1000 m and 1 hrs = 3600 sec

So, [ Converting from smaller unit to larger unit we divide with the factor}

120 m/s into km/h = `\frac {1/1000 km}{1/3600 h}`

or

120 m/s into km/h = `\frac {1 ｘ3600 km}{1000 h}`

120 m/s into km/h = 3.6 km/h --------------Ans.4
