Kinds of Sentence:


1. Assertive Sentence: (News, Message

It asserts and gives or forwards any news and message.

Examples:

1. They play football.

2. I love Pakistan.



2. Optative Sentence: (pray, wish)


It is a sentence in which we can pray and wish.

Examples:

1. May you live long.
2. May you pass your exams?


3. Exclamatory Sentence: (happiness, grief, and wonder)

It expresses feelings of happiness, grief, and wonder.

Examples:

1. Alas! He is dead.
2: Hurrah! We won the match.
3. What a car!


4. Imperative Sentence: (commands, requests, advice, forbid)

It has four functions: It commands/requests, advises, and forbids.

Examples:

1. Open the door.
2. Please open the door.
3. Speak the truth.
4. Do not open the door.


5. Interrogative Sentence: (Question)

It asks a question.

Examples:

1. Is he going?
2. Where is he?

6. Conditional Sentences:

1. Absolute Conditional:

This conditional is used to show absolute truth had no other result possible.

If

Present Simple

 If

water freezes

it becomes solid.



2. Probable Condition:

This conditional is used to express strong chances of happening of an event.

If

Present Simple

Future Simple

 If

he comes

we shall go.



3. Possible Conditional:

It expresses past actions that could bring a result in the future. Would/Could/Might are used in the sequence of probability.

If

Past Simple

Would/Could/Might

 If

he came

we would go.



4. Improbable Conditional:

It reflects the opinion about the results of the past under different conditions.

If

Past Perfect

Would Have

 If

he had come

we would have gone.
