a) How many seconds are there in 1 year?
b) How many nanoseconds in 1 year?
c) How many years in 1 second?
[Ans. ( a) 3.1536 x 10⁷s, (b) 3.1536 x 10¹⁶ns (c) 3.1 x 10⁻⁸ yr]

To find:

a) Seconds in 1 year = ?
b) Nanoseconds in 1 year = ?
c) Years in 1 second = ?

Solution:

a) Seconds in 1 year

We know that
1 year = 24 hours
1 day = 24 hours
1 hour = 60 minutes
1 minute = 60 seconds

So,

1 year = 365 ï½˜ 24 x 60 x 60 s

1 year = 31536000 s

1 year 3.1536 ï½˜ 10s -- Ans

b) Nanoseconds in 1 year

To solve this problem we will express 1 second in prefix (nano) So,

1 second = 10⁹ nanoseconds

as [  1 year 3.1536 ï½˜ 10⁷ seconds] so,

1 year = 3.1536 ï½˜ 10  ï½˜ 10⁹ nanoseconds

1 year = 3.1536 ï½˜ 10⁹ nanoseconds

1 year = 3.1536 ï½˜ 10¹⁶ nanoseconds  -- Ans

c) Years in 1 second

As [  1 year 3.1536 ï½˜ 10⁷ seconds ] so by unitary method,

3.1536 ï½˜ 10⁷ seconds 1 year

1 second`\frac{1}{3.1536 x 10⁷}` year

by simplifying we get

1 second = 0.317 ï½˜ 10⁻⁷ year

or

1 second = 0.317 ï½˜ 10⁻⁸ year--------Ans
