How much distance is covered by light in one year when its speed in space is 3 x 10⁸ m s⁻¹. Ans. (9.5 x 10¹⁵m)
Given:
Time = t = 1 Year = 31536000 s = 3.154 x 10⁷ s
Speed of Light = v = 3 x 10⁸ m s⁻¹
To Find:
Distance traveled by Light in one year = S = ?
Solution:
The formula to calculate distance is
S = v x t
by putting the corresponding values
S = 9.462 x 10¹⁵ m ------------------Ans.
