Q. Screw gauge can give a more precise length than vernier calipers. Briefly explain why?
Answer:
The Vernier Caliper is a precision instrument that can be used to measure internal and external distance/length extremely accurately. While Micrometer screw gauge is also a distance/length measuring instrument used for measuring extremely small dimensions and is extensively used in the engineering field for obtaining precision measurements.
The screw gauge is more precise than Vernier calipers because the least count of Vernier calipers is 0.1 mm and for the screw gauge, it is 0.01 mm. So, a screw gauge can measure more precisely than a Vernier caliper.
